Works with your existing workflow

VeloWise analyzes delivery data from the tools your team already uses, turning day-to-day execution data into sprint health, delivery context and leadership insight. Your workflow stays the same; the analysis follows one consistent delivery model.

Supported today

VeloWise imports delivery data from CSV exports. It supports exports from Jira today, including optional status-change history for time-in-stage and scope-change evidence. Other tools can be used when their exports contain equivalent columns, which you map by hand during import.

DataNeeded for
Required: work-item key, status, sprintA baseline analysis: sprint composition, completion, carryover and the delivery stage of every item
Recommended: summary, type, story points, created, resolved and updated datesScope added after the start, throughput, lead time, work mix and readable drill-downs
Optional: epic and parent links, labels, resolution, description, status-change historyEpic and initiative progress, requirement gaps, time in stage and exact scope-change timing

Sprint dates, entered once per sprint, strengthen scope and carryover analysis further. The methodology lists exactly what each report needs and labels every result by how well your data supports it.

How import works

  1. Export work items (and, optionally, status history) from your work-tracking tool as CSV.
  2. Map fields. Columns are detected automatically; anything unusual can be mapped by hand and is remembered for next time.
  3. Map workflow statuses to delivery stages — not started, development, code review, QA, done, released — so every team is read the same way.
  4. Analyze. Files are parsed in your browser. With an organization project, the import is also stored for your team — see data storage and deletion.

What VeloWise does with the data

  1. Delivery data — work items, workflow states, sprint membership, epic relationships and release status.
  2. VeloWise analysis — normalization into consistent delivery stages and documented calculations.
  3. Delivery context — scope changes, carryover, WIP debt, bottlenecks, capacity, requirement gaps and release visibility.
  4. Leadership insight — what changed, where work is stuck, what reached production and which initiatives need attention.

Frequently asked questions

Does VeloWise work with Jira?
Yes. VeloWise imports CSV exports from Jira, including multiple sprint columns and optional status-change history. A direct connection that imports sprints without exports is coming with VeloWise Pro; today you export and upload the file.
Can I use data from other delivery tools?
The analysis model is tool-agnostic. The current importer expects fields commonly found in Jira exports, so another tool works when its export has an equivalent key, status and sprint column that you can map. Results depend on what the export contains; the methodology explains what each report needs.
Are credentials for my work-tracking tool stored?
No. Imports use CSV files, so no API token or password is needed or stored. See security and organization access.
